One of Dublin’s newest suburbs, Adamstown is a vibrant, exciting and fast growing neighbourhood, situated just 16KM west of the City.

This prime site is well located to provide access to local amenities and is suited to a mid-density apartment development, along with the provision of associated infrastructure.   As part of the  overall (Phase 2) scheme an initial appraisal was undertaken of the outline brief for a site capacity of (72) residential units c/w balconies in a single building, over five storeys.

Studio |dpsq reviewed the Planning Summary & Parking requirements and as part of the granted planning permission, considered the appropriate mix of apartment accommodation, suitable for the intended scheme.  The brief being to maximise the building footprint and  to provide efficient, sustainable living accommodation.  The assessment, explored the feasibility of increasing the number of apartment units, with a view to meeting the requirements of an approved housing body and the provision of Social Housing.

A suitable balance between living accommodation and  public/communal open space was an important aspect of the design  along with the treatment of site boundaries, trees & landscaping to be maintained in line the overall masterplan.  It’s also intended to incorporate a Creche, along with other tenant amenities and associated infrastructure at Grd Floor level.
